Day 1 HANOI / BA BE  (L) (overnight at a homestay)

Pick up at the hotel at 7h00 and drive to ba be lake via thai nguyen and its tea plantations.

Arrive in ba be around 15h00. Take a small boat trip to one of the lakes and through nang river as far as the dau dang waterfalls. Install at the homestay in pac ngoi village.

Overnight in a home-stay in ba be.

Day 2 BA BE / CAO BANG  (B/L)

After breakfast, drive through the well preserved ba be national park to a delightful tay village and then continue the drive to cao bang. On the way, you may stop at one of the local markets (depending on which day of the week) and visit some minority villages.

Overnight in Cao Bang.

Day 3 CAO BANG / BAN GIOC WATERFALLS / CAO BANG  (B/L)

After breakfast, take the road to a local minority market (normally on weekends or every 5-10-20th day of the lunar calendar) and the beautiful 800-meter long grottoes of nguom ngao. After the visit, continue driving until one of the most beautiful views of northern vietnam: the ban gioc waterfalls. The place marks the border between vietnam and china and the multiple levels waterfall is set in a lush landscape (water level may vary between seasons).

Return to cao bang in the afternoon stopping along the way to visit the 100-year old blacksmith village of phuc sen.

Overnight in Cao Bang.

Day 4 CAO BANG / HA GIANG  (B/L)

After breakfast, drive to ha giang and enjoy the majestic sceneries and stunning views over the valleys, mountains and bamboo forests. on the way, stop at tin tuc market (only possible on the 5th, 10th and 15th days of the lunar calendar). Visit the small village of the san chi people. continuing by road, you will have the chance to meet the lolo, nung and tay communities near bao lac. Arrive in ha giang late in the afternoon.

Overnight in Ha Giang.

Day 5 HA GIANG / DONG VAN  (B/L)

After breakfast, depart for dong van via the mountainous roads and numerous valleys. Along the way, Visit the bo y village and binh yen standing stones before arriving in quan ba. Visit the h'mong village of lung tam to discover the art of traditional weaving and embroidery.

In the afternoon, continue by road through the steep mountain passes and forests to dong van via meo vac and the famous happiness road. Continue through the impressive ma pi leng pass. Check-in to the hotel in dong van and take a walk through the old streets with houses over 100 years old.

Overnight in dong van.

Day 6 DONG VAN / PHO BANG / HA GIANG  (B/L/D) (home stay)

After breakfast, visit the dong van and saphin market as well as vua meo - the palace of the king of h'mong. Continue by road to pho bang featuring ancient multi-level houses made of clay bricks with tiled roofs. If visiting dong van on a weekend, one can shop at an authentic mountain market where all sorts of products, including colorful traditional clothing can be purchased. Drive back to ha giang.

Dinner and overnight at the stilt house of me village.
Note: traditional houses are made of wood and offer a basic level of accommodation. This type of housing is an important part of the experience of traveling to these remote areas of vietnam and offer excellent opportunities to share local people's way of life.

Day 7 HA GIANG / HANOI  (B/L)

After breakfast, visit the beautiful tay village of phuong do and its stilt houses, fish ponds and rice fields, before driving back to hanoi. Enjoy a local lunch on the way. Arrive in hanoi late in the afternoon.
